It doesn’t have to be perfect

One of the hardest things I’ve had to learn is to not let perfect stand in the way of better. If you don’t have access to a nutritious, low-carb, healthy home-cooked meal, then going crazy at a restaurant with cheese cake is not your only choice. If you’re at a restaurant and don’t see grass-fed beef on the menu, get the steak and salad and have a glass of red wine. It’s not perfect, but your blood sugar will remain steady, and you can feel better that you made the best choice you could given the circumstances.

There are so many work-arounds to a perfect meal to mention here, but if you think a little and get creative, you can almost always find choices that will keep insulin levels low and your blood sugar in check.
