Why HbA1C May Not Be the Best Indicator For Future Diabetic Complications

The link below connects you to the latest podcast by Chris Masterjohn. This podcast gets pretty technical, but Chris does an amazing job of explaining why HbA1C test for glycated hemaglobin is an imperfect method for determining average blood sugar over the last few months and also why HbA1C is not a cause of diabetic complications.

I thought Chris fell short of giving any practical recommendations for the type 1 diabetic, but the episode is very educational and informative. Again, you may have to put on your propellor hats and really geek out, but it’s really worth it.
