I have had type 1 diabetes since February 2002 and I currently teach math to high school juniors and seniors. I swim and run several times a week and still enjoy competing in these sports against people my own age.
I am not a doctor, nutritionist, or dietician. Although I have an M.S in electrical engineering and a B.S in human nutrition and foods, I have no license or certificate that would allow me to legally disseminate advice with regard to the medical treatment of type 1 diabetes (T1). I simply read too many books, listen to too many podcasts, and have spent the last ten years trying to figure out how to perform at a high level in life despite having T1 myself.
